Abstract: The FeO content of sinter is the key role for sinter quality, carbon consumption and production cost. And it has great effect on production status, fuel ratio and hot metal output of blast furnace. According to the relevant national standards and industry standards, the particle size, reducibility, drum strength, fuel ratio of sinter and BF production status in Tangsteel iron-making plant were analyzed in this paper. It is found that the optimal range of FeO content in Tangsteel is from 8.0 to 8.5 wt. %.

Abstract: High-pressure water descaling is an important equipment in hot rolling of steel plant. Filling post pipelines of descaling valve during the interval of descaling operation can effectively protect the system equipment. Pipeline filling can prevent water loss from becoming empty pipe and forming air collection, thus to eliminate pipeline impact and vibration caused by descaling operation, and to avoid damage of pipeline equipment. There are two methods of water filling: low-pressure filling and high-pressure filling. Non-energy-saving descaling system, i.e. the system of mixed water supply of descaling pump and accumulator, and the descaling system of direct water supply of descaling pump, should choose high-pressure filling, which consumes little energy of good reliability and safety; while the energy-saving descaling system, i.e. the system of mixed water supply of descaling pump and accumulator, should choose low-pressure filling, which has lower energy consumption and remarkable energy-saving effect, but with relatively poor system safety.

Abstract: Proposed a method for optimizing the parameters of drilling and blasting operations, considering the physical and technical properties of rocks within the blasted block, in order to improve the quality of the blasting quarries with a complex geological structure. Described the ground-penetrating radar method is with the application of the "Oko-2" series of the development of the group of companies "LOGIS-GEOTECH" with antenna blocks AB-90 with a depth of sounding up to 16 m. and a resolution of 0.5 m. in depth and AB-150 with a sounding depth of 12 m. and resolving ability of 0.35 m. in depth. The results of laboratory experiments carried out on blasting blocks with various strength properties are presented, confirming the improvement in the quality of crushing of rock samples by explosion of charges with variable decelerations and location, depending on the strength properties of the samples, relative to charge explosions with unchanged parameters. This will ensure a better crushing of the blasted rock mass.

Abstract: In this research, the efficiency of magnetic separation methods for processing of a low-grade iron pigments ore (red ochre) has been studied. Based on the mineralogical analyses (XRD), thin section and polish studies, the reserve is an iron sedimentary deposit with an average Fe grade of %31.3. The most valuable minerals are Hematite and Goethite and main gangue minerals are Calcite and Quartz. Wet and dry high-intensity magnetic separation methods were applied for processing. The full factorial design was implemented for all of the wet high-intensity magnetic separation (WHIMS) experiments. Factors of magnetic field intensity, rotor speed and feed water flowrate were considered for design. In optimal conditions in rougher stage, WHIMS produced a concentrate with grade %42.92 Fe and recovery %62.23 in magnetic field intensity 1.7 Tesla, feed water flowrate 5 liter per minute and speed of rotor 3 rounds per minute; also after two stage cleaning WHIMS produced a concentrate with Fe grade and Fe recovery of %56.12 and %38.56, respectively. The results of the dry high-intensity magnetic separation for the two coarser fractions showed that size fraction of coarser than 1000 micron produced a concentrate with Fe grade %40.32 and relative Fe recovery %95.11 and size fraction of -1000+150 micron with Fe grade %45. 04 and relative Fe recovery %75.14. The results of experiments show that there is a low capability for improving quality and grade of this ore. Achieved concentrate from experiments could be used as an initial feed of producing pigment.

Abstract: Mining industry is a very important industry in China. Its tax and fee policy is related to the whole industry. This paper summarizes the main types of taxes and fees involved in iron ore in China, Australia, Russia, Cameroon, Brazil, India and South Africa, and also compare the comprehensive tax and fee burden rates of iron ore companies in China with those of four major international mining companies, Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Valley and FMG. It concludes that the comprehensive tax and fee burden rates of iron ore companies in China are higher about 6% than those of the four major international mining companies. The main reasons for the increase are unreasonable industrial orientation of mining industry, high resource tax and value-added tax rates, few deductible items of value-added tax, and unreasonable collection of local special taxes and fees. Finally the author puts forward five suggestions on how to reduce the tax burden of iron ore companies. First, the government can improve the tax system and form a scientific, reasonable tax system. The second is adjusting the mining industry from the second industry to the primary industry. The third is to formulate a national strategy to ensure the safety of iron ore supply. The fourth is to uniformly determine the collection standard of resource tax rate by the country, cancel the unreasonable tax and fee collected by local government. The fifth is to increase fuel tax credits for mining companies.
